Forte is the Resonance Abilities that belongs to a resonator.
Description[]
The Resonance Abilities of a Resonator are referred to as their Forte. In the world of Wuthering Waves there are as many different Forte's as there are Resonators. It is believed that a Resonator's past and subconscious mind influence their Forte, thus making their Fortes unique.
As a part of what seems to be routine health monitoring of Resonators (and as a preventative safety measure) each Resonator goes through an examination and is then written a Forte Examination Report that provides information on their Forte and status as a Resonator.
While Lorewise not all Fortes seem to be suitable for combat, in the Combat System of Wuthering Waves a playable Resonator's set of Combat Skills is synonymous to their Forte.
Combat Skills[]
There are six Fortes that all playable Resonators possess:
- Basic Attack
- Resonance Skill
- Resonance Liberation
- Forte Circuit
- Inherent Skill
- Intro Skill/Outro Skill
Basic Attack[]

Basic Attacks refer to Resonators' normal attacks, usually consisting of a repeated combo that deals their respective Attribute's DMG.
Other than their basic attack combo sequence, there are three other types of attacks that the Basic Attack can deal:
- Heavy Attack: Holding a Basic Attack will consume Stamina and deal increased Attribute DMG.
- Mid-Air Attack: Performing a Basic Attack whilst in the air will consume Stamina to plunge from mid-air and deal increased Attribute DMG.
- Dodge Counter: After a successful Dodge, performing a Basic Attack in quick succession will cause a Resonator to perform a Counterattack, dealing increased Attribute DMG.
Some Resonators might deviate from this pattern.
Resonance Skill[]
Resonance Skill, is a Forte that regenerates energy for the usage of Resonance Liberation. The exact details of a Resonance Skill depends on the Resonator.
Whilst most Resonance Skills have CDs, some Resonators' are an exception to this rule and don't have a CD for their Skills.
E.g. Danjin's Resonance Skill - Crimson Fragment.
Forte Circuit[]
Forte Circuits are unique to each character, both in ways to use and ways to increase (e.g. Danjin's usage of her skill or Mortefi dealing DMG to increase his "Annoyance"). The usage of Forte Circuits is beneficial to combat all around, providing buffed output when used.
Resonance Liberation[]
Resonance Liberation, used by clicking R, is a Forte that is released by using accumulated energy. They tend to be much more powerful than the Resonance Skills.
Intro/Outro Skills[]
Intro and Outro Skills are Fortes that are used by switching characters after building a set amount of Concerto Energy. Resonators will do a joint attack after swapping with full Concerto Energy, dealing increased DMG, with the leaving character either giving a buff or dealing a massive amount of damage.
- Changli's Strategy of Duality gives 20% Fusion DMG Bonus and 25% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus.
Concerto Energy[]
Concerto Energy is increased by dealing damage to enemies.

When there are 5 stacks, the ATK is reduced by 7% instead, and the target is applied Magnetized, affecting their movement when encountering certain mechanisms.
If stacked to its max, "Electro Flare Effect" reduces ATK by 10%.
It is recommended to always keep an eye on the stack count of "Electro Flare Effect" to avoid unfavorable combat situations.
