Synopsis[]

Descent on Mt. Firmament[]

In ancient times, Jué descended on Mt. Firmament alongside a colossal vehicle, which would later come to be known as the Mianloong Chamber. The early settlers of Hongzhen believed that the Sentinel originated from a faraway star and that its vehicle served as its hibernation pod. As part of its directive to protect and safeguard civilization, Jué created a Temporal Barrier to protect the citizens of Hongzhen from Tacet Discords—greatly affecting the flow of time within the area. Due to this act, the people of Hongzhen revere the Sentinel, who safeguards their town, praying devotedly for its blessing of lasting prosperity and longevity. They eventually carved its likeness onto the mountain itself, creating Loong's Crest.

A report from the Court of Savantae, which had dubbed the Sentinel C-001, confirmed that it had sustained serious injuries—injuries that surpassed even its natural state of immortality. Alongside these injuries, the Sentinel had also lost one of its Temporal Programs, a key component of its complete dominion over the Temporal Mandate. In its prime, Jué had the ability to manipulate time—decelerating, halting, rewinding it, and making corrections as needed. However, with the loss of one of its Programs, it could now only stop and reverse the flow of time. Jué concluded that, eventually, it would perish, and could only use the Mianloong Chamber to temporarily stabilize its condition and replenish its energy, delaying its inevitable demise. Its current condition could only be described as one of sickness, with irreversible disruptions to time rendering any attempts at correction or restoration ineffective. According to Jué, should it eventually die, the uncontrolled time flow—Temporal Disruptions, would expand beyond Mt. Firmament, endangering Jinzhou.

The Sentinel, still adhering to its directive from its Arbiter, continued its duty of safeguarding civilization—Jinzhou, and by extension, Hongzhen—at the cost of its own life force, frequently returning to the Mianloong Chamber to sustain itself.

Recognizing the threat posed by the Sentinel's impending demise, a "peculiar visitor" collaborated with the Court of Savantae, leading to the creation of the Chronosorters. These artificial Resonance Objects were designed as a temporary aid to the Sentinel, tasked with correcting the temporal distortions currently affecting Mt. Firmament by resonating with the Sentinel. This collaboration continued and eventually contributed to the development of the Secondary Resonance Awakening Theory after several failed attempts.

I was right... My belief in the Secondary Resonance theory has been confirmed! When two entities resonate at high intensity, the weaker one can exert much greater Resonance power than its original capacity. The only issue is how the Chronosorters we've been making are too fragile for this task. I need a more powerful Resonator, but the risk is too great. No one can withstand the resonance shock of C-001 without enduring catastrophic overclocking.

While Jinzhou was under siege from a numerous Tacet Discords, a mother and the infant Jinhsi sought refuge in the ruins, attempting to evade the Tacet Discords. The mother was ultimately killed while protecting her child, and the infant's survival became highly unlikely as its cries diminished and ceased within minutes. The infant's cries, however, exhibited a unique Resonance that was detected by the Sentinel. Responding to their Resonance, Jué found the infant and utilized its temporal capabilities to dispel the surrounding threats. Unfortunately, the infant had already passed.

Utilizing the temporal anomalies of Mt. Firmament, the Sentinel was able to reverse the infant’s death, effectively resurrecting it. Once restored, the infant was designated as the Sentinel's Appointed Resonator, a role of significant influence. Unbeknownst to many, the infant had also inherited the Sentinel's Temporal Program, including the one it had lost, due to its Resonance Ability. The individual would later ascend to the position of Magistrate of Jinzhou.

The Thaw of Eons[]

After the events of the Main Quest: Thaw of Eons, Jinhsi inherits the Temporal Mandate through her Secondary Resonance Awakening after its transfer was approved by the Sentinel's Arbiter. The Temporal Disruptions present in Mt. Firmament have subsided due to the re-completion of the Sentinel's Temporal Programs within Jinhsi. Jué vows to only offer aid when it is truly needed since the Magistrate of Jinzhou has fully assumed their mantle of leadership.

  • Loong Scale
Jinhsi had frequent nightmares in her childhood. Once, she was drowning in her dream, caught in the surf and about to sink to the bottom of the ocean. A piece of driftwood floated by, and she clung to it, returning to shore against the tide. When she woke up, what she was holding in her hand was a piece of scale. If you look closely, you'll notice that the scale looks similar to the ones on the Sentinel's body...
