UI Quest Quest Description

Forbidden memories of the past lay buried in ashes and ruins. The ominous "fractured star" beckons, holding untold secrets within its shadows. Secrets that still burn within a cindered heart.
(As the player goes to the designated location)
Yangyang: This must be the place...

(Clear the Tacet Field)
Yangyang: I sensed something ominous from the leaf back there, but I couldn't pinpoint its source...
Yangyang: And now, the hatred and pain is so strong in this place. I don't even need to concentrate to feel it...
Yangyang: Rover, something terrible must have happened here.
Yangyang: We have to be cautious. This is a Tacet Field. Let's take out those Tacet Discords first.

(After purging the Tacet Field)
(Huanglong I - Act III Ominous Star [Unlocked])
Yangyang: I think I've found something, Rover.

(Investigate the tattered wooden plaque)
Yangyang: Ritualistic wooden plaques...
Yangyang: But why are they here? These plaques are usually placed in ancestral shrines...
Yangyang: And they seem to belong to a different time...
Yangyang: I remember reading about something like this. People held large-scale ancient rituals periodically in their villages, driven by certain beliefs.
Rover: I see... Let's check somewhere else.

(Investigate the suspicious embers)
Yangyang: The area's a mess, but it doesn't look like a warzone. Someone was hurt and dragged away.
Yangyang: Look, there are many footprints here. These are... traces left by a fight.
Yangyang: Someone was injured...

(Investigate the strange Tacet Discord)
Yangyang: Watch out!
Strange Tacet Discord: Ugh... Uh? Uhh...
Yangyang: Something's not right. Why wouldn't it attack us?
Strange Tacet Discord: Nngh... brother...
Strange Tacet Discord: Help... Help...
Icon Dialogue Talk (Talk to it.)
Strange Tacet Discord: Brother... help...
Strange Tacet Discord: Ugh...
Icon Dialogue Talk Who is your brother?
Strange Tacet Discord: Help...
Icon Dialogue Talk (Attack it.)
Yangyang: W-wait! It doesn't look like it's trying to attack us...
Icon Dialogue TalkDo Tacet Discords have consciousness too?
Strange Tacet Discord: Help...
Strange Tacet Discord: ...Brother...
Strange Tacet Discord: ...
Yangyang: It seems to only repeat these lines... This is not a common Tacet Discord.
Yangyang: Tacet Discords attack other living beings, because they need to feed on those frequencies to make themselves whole again. When frequencies are scattered and recombined, a new Tacet Discord is born.
Yangyang: This one probably devoured the frequencies of... humans.
Yangyang: Turning the last bits of a human's consciousness into such monotonous mumbles... Are these words the last cries of someone innocent? Who is behind this twisted plot?
Yangyang crouched down, hand on the Tacet Discord's head. As she focused on the Streams, sorrow filled her expression.
Yangyang: I'm sorry...
Icon Dialogue Talk Are you talking to it?
Yangyang: No, that's beyond my ability. I just sensed some complex feelings from it... A mixture of deep sadness and eager anticipation.
Yangyang: Rover... I think I know what's going on here.
Icon Dialogue Talk Go ahead.
Yangyang: It seems to be begging for help, but it's not asking us to help it. I can sense the pained cries of this Tacet Discord... No, the cries of this whole village.
Yangyang: The village is crying, waiting for rescue.
Yangyang: Something truly awful must have happened here... And the victims' Reverberations still linger.
Yangyang: Based on the evidence we've found and the condition of these ruins, that didn't happen all too long ago. I can still feel it in the Streams.
Yangyang: Perhaps the Tacet Field has kept this village from being discovered, or maybe someone has been intentionally concealing it. Anyway...
Yangyang: There must be something we can do. We may find the victims nearby. I can feel someone connected to what happened here is still close... This place is dangerous.
Yangyang: I'll inform Chixia about what happened here. Can we continue our search before the official investigators arrive?
Yangyang: Sorry, I know it doesn't sound very convincing... It's just a hunch of mine, and I don't have any evidence to back it up.
Icon Dialogue Talk No, not at all. I believe you.
Icon Dialogue Talk This is where Jinhsi's token has pointed to.
Yangyang: Thank you, Rover. Please stay vigilant.
Yangyang: As for the little one here... Let's leave it be.

Yangyang: These cards... I see...
Yangyang: The Fractsidus is likely behind it all.
Rover: The Fractsidus?
Yangyang: Yes. I don't know much about the Fractsidus, but as an Outrider, I've worked on related cases.
Yangyang: It's a group of extremists obsessed with fusing humans with Tacet Discords. They've caused terror attacks of various scales around the world.
Rover: Fusing humans and Tacet Discords...
Yangyang: We've seen signs of their presence in Jinzhou, left by lower-ranked members called "Artificers".
Yangyang: Above the Artificers are the Overseers, leaders with eerie abilities and unknown intentions. They pose a far bigger threat...
Yangyang: No one knows their true intentions. Some members speak of world destruction, while others claim they seek eternal power.
Yangyang: And there is one particularly insane Overseer. He's crazy even by Fractsidus standards...
Yangyang: A man who sees no order and revels in destruction... I've seen similar cards in the physical evidence file of the Fractsidus-related cases.
Yangyang: They belong to this one Overseer I'm talking about. They call him... Scar.
Yangyang: If he's responsible for what happened to these villagers... Who knows what kind of cruel and twisted atrocities he's capable of...

(Investigate where the weird noises are coming from)
(Cutscene plays)
??: Guess you won't need my self-introduction. Aww, I spent so much time on it.
(Cutscene ends)

Icon Dialogue Talk You are... Scar?
Scar: If you need to hear it from me, then... Yes, I am Scar.
Scar: "Cruel and twisted maniac."
Icon Dialogue Talk Where is Yangyang?
Scar: We deserve a meeting free of such disturbances, don't you agree?
Scar: That girl... She's gonna sway your judgement.
Icon Dialogue Talk What do you want?
Icon Dialogue Talk Give her back to me!
Scar: Aw, so you really care about her.
Scar: Don't worry, I don't plan to make you hate me just yet... She is safe now.
Scar: Well, let's just enjoy our time together for the moment. Forget about that irrelevant person, will you? I have a lot to share with you.
Scar: To begin with... I heard you've lost your memories?
Icon Dialogue Talk How did you know?
Scar: So it's true.
Scar: That makes sense, given how fragile you were when you woke up. Or I would've questioned the authenticity of those rumors.
Icon Dialogue Talk You followed me.
Scar: So you noticed? Aww, I'm flattered.
Scar: No need to be so on edge. By now you should've realized I'm just one of the onlookers.
Scar: But out of all the onlookers, I'm the only one who came forward to meet you, with absolute honesty.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Answer my question first.
Scar: Hehe... Indeed. I'll tell you then.
Scar: Before you knew anything about this world, you were already the center of conflict.
Scar: You are the unknown variable we've been waiting for. Forces have been fighting for possession over you.
Scar: From the moment you opened your eyes, everyone you've met, including that girl you care so much about... They all knew how valuable you are.
Scar: The world is a cruel place. You are a living, breathing person, but you're just a pawn to many.
Scar: That's why I'm here... Because I see you as a dear friend, and I want to tell you the truth. I am so, so sorry for everything you are about to face.
Scar: But truth hurts sometimes.
Icon Dialogue Talk As if you were any different.
Scar: Hehe, I know you are not one I can sway with simple words.
Icon Dialogue Talk You're just trying to make me join your side.
Scar: You could say I'm looking forward to your choice.
Scar: My goal is simple. I just want to deepen our mutual understanding, nothing more.
Scar: Come on. Observe the surroundings a little more, and tell me what you see.
Scar: As you learn more about this world, your true desires will surface, and our little game will become... even more entertaining.
Scar: And before that, I don't want anyone to disturb my precious alone time with you... That's all.
Icon Dialogue Talk What did the Fractsidus do to this village?
Scar: Aww. Why do you have to assume we are the culprits?
Scar: Maybe you should be asking me what actually happened here.
Scar: I won't tell you everything just yet. That's too boring. As I said, why don't you take a look around and see for yourself?
Scar: So. Go ahead, what do you see?
Icon Dialogue Talk A large-scale ritual.
Icon Dialogue Talk People were injured.
Icon Dialogue Talk A strange Tacet Discord.
Scar: Bravo! Didn't think you'd catch on to that!
Scar: Now, what is the conclusion you've drawn?
Icon Dialogue Talk The Fractsidus manipulated the villagers.
Scar: Ah, how typical. The age-old tale of savage wolves and helpless lambs. Good and evil as clear as day. It's a tired story that people cling to in their mundane lives. Oh, how it keeps them in check.
Scar: But let me ask you this: do you truly believe the real world can be that simple?
Icon Dialogue Talk The villagers killed each other.
Scar: I see you don't really trust those villagers.
Scar: Ah... So they were right about you. You are indeed quite exceptional.
Scar: I like it. Your keen observation, precise judgment, and accurate understanding of human nature...
Scar: Let me give you a couple more tips.
Scar: The truth is far more complicated than you think.
Scar: First, who are the players in our tale?
Scar: An innocent girl, a revered leader, and a flock of simple villagers.
Scar: Next, what makes up our main plot?
Scar: False devotion, fleeting kindness, collective deceit, senseless killings, and... The one vulnerable soul, pushed onto a path of destruction by the masses.
Scar: Now, Rover, the story is yours to spin.
Scar: I'm eager to hear your version after you've learned more.

(Optional - Talk to Scar)
Scar: Huh? What is it? Are you back for some chit-chat?
Icon Dialogue Talk I need another hint.
Scar: I see. So you want to cheat, huh?
Scar: A clever move, unbound by convention. I like it.
Scar: But I'm not telling you more. Not yet. Wouldn't want our first conversation to become a boring exchange of words, just parroting each other's lines.
Icon Dialogue Talk Just tell me the truth. All of it.
Scar: Ahahaha... No. I refuse.
Scar: Oh, and don't try to threaten me. You're not in a place to bargain, remember?
Scar: You don't want to disappoint me so soon, Rover.
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Fine. I'll go look for clues.
(dialogue ends)
Icon Dialogue Talk (Attack him.)
Scar: C'mon. No need to get so worked up.
Scar: I see you're itching for a fight, but our game isn't over yet.
Scar: Strike now and risk being crippled. And what a shame it would be to miss out on these crucial clues right in front of you.
Scar: After all this effort, do you truly want to throw it all away?
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Fine. I'll go look for clues.
(dialogue ends)
Icon Dialogue Talk (Attack him.)
Scar: Aww, are you serious going to judge me off of those rumors alone?
Scar: I knew it... Gentle lambs like me are bound to suffer. Never given a chance to speak for ourselves...
Scar: Well then, I suppose I'll have to be a little more ruthless with you.
Scar: Play nice and go investigate the clues in this village, then I might show your girl some "gratitude" for leaving us be.
Scar: Otherwise... You may have to bid her farewell. Forever.
Scar: What do you say?
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Fine. I'll go look for clues.
(dialogue ends)
Icon Dialogue Attack Shut up and fight me properly!
:Scar: HAHAHAHA! You never cease to amaze me!
:Scar: Such a burning desire for battle... How could I have the heart to decline?
 :Scar: As you wish, then...
(Cutscene: Scar materializes a card, then brings Rover along with him into his domain.)
(Proceed to "Defeat Scar and break out of his Elysium" step)

(Investigate the clues Scar provided)
A crumpled page from a children's book rests on a torn piece of diary paper with childish handwriting.
Icon Dialogue Talk (Read the diary.)
Scar: Our story begins here...
Scar: Once upon a time, in a peaceful village lived a flock of carefree lambs.
Scar: In the day they toiled for food, and when evening fell, they sought refuge from the looming threat of wolves.
Icon Dialogue Talk Quite the storyteller, aren't you?
Scar: Fables, stories told and retold through the ages. The ancient art of conveying hidden truths through fiction.
Scar: But they always draw from real life, don't they?
Scar: The same story gets told by many, and each person brings their own spin, their own focus.
Scar: Whatever you learn from it is just one of countless different interpretations.
Scar: Like us now, caught in a carefully crafted plot line... A scheme I had no hand in.
Scar: This village marks the beginning of my story with Jinzhou... Hehe....
Scar: So that Magistrate led you here to meet me. Heh, such a clever move on her part.

(Follow the TD to find more clues)
The tree branches are loaded with paper slips, each containing someone's wish. The words on most of the notes are soaked and no longer legible.
Icon Dialogue Talk (Read the paper slips.)
Another crumpled page from a children's book, half-buried in the mud.
Scar: One day, a shepherd visited the village.
Scar: The shepherd brought them promises of abundance and protection. The lambs, drawn in by his words, soon lived in comfort and security...
Icon Dialogue Talk Is that... the end of your story?
Scar: No, quite the opposite! The shepherd's arrival is only the beginning.
Scar: With a wave of his hand, the shepherd could grant their every wish.
Scar: His flock obeyed, bowing their heads, pleading for better food and shelter.
Scar: They no longer had to struggle for survival, as their once meager lives were replaced with endless luxury.
Scar: The flock worshipped their shepherd-turned-god, praising him and holding him in the highest regard...
Icon Dialogue Talk ...
Scar: What's wrong? Does my story make you uncomfortable?
Scar: Imagine you were one of those lambs, facing irresistible temptation and pressure from your peers. Wouldn't you bow down and beg for food from your master?
Icon Dialogue Talk We are all created equal. There should be no hierarchy.
Scar: Haha... So we agree already.
Scar: You are right, but the world we live in falls short of our ideals. The shepherd still reigns, and the lambs have grown complacent.
Scar: It's up to the two of us to make that ideal world a reality.

(Follow the TD to find more clues)
A crumpled page from a children's book, silently resting on the ground.
Scar: The lambs reveled in endless bonfire parties, celebrating their new god every night, except... the one little black lamb.
Scar: As each night passed, it was the only one to notice how its flock was dwindling away.
Scar: Rover, do you think someone would give you what you want without taking anything from you?
Icon Dialogue Talk I believe in quid pro quo.
Scar: Hehe...
Scar: I once believed that too. Thought as long as I paid a high enough price, I could get my desired outcome.
Scar: But true equality is scarce. Always has been.
Scar: The world was never a fair place. Wouldn't you agree?
Scar: To receive equal retribution, one must give more, and more... and more.
Scar: When every wish comes with a hefty price, people weigh their options carefully.
Scar: But when they can make someone else bear the price...
Scar: They all rush to make more wishes. They don't consider they too may one day pay for another's selfish desire.
Scar: Funny, isn't it...

(Follow the TD to find more clues)
You find some markings on the walls.
As you lean in closer to look, you notice some faint markings on the wall.
Words like "MONSTER", "WITCH", "BANISH HER" and "ALL HER FAULT" are written thickly on the wall.
A crumpled page from a children's book, silently resting on the ground.
Scar: Later, the shepherd openly blamed the black lamb for the flock's decline.
Scar: On the next day, the white lambs welcomed the rising sun as usual, but the black lamb was nowhere to be found.
Scar: The shepherd introduced an unspoken rule to this village, one that our black lamb violated by telling the truth.
Scar: Suddenly, the once doting "god" stopped fulfilling wishes, because no more sacrifices were being made.
Scar: After witnessing the black lamb's actions, and hearing from their almighty shepherd... What do you suppose the white lambs did?
Scar: Ah, those oblivious lambs. Little did they know, the most fearsome demon was right under their noses.

(Tell Scar your theory of what had happened)
Scar: Well done. You didn't let any detail slip.
Scar: Now, I wonder. What is your takeaway from this story?
Scar: Answer me, and I'll reveal the truth of what happened.
Scar: Who was the real culprit behind the diminishing number of lambs?
Icon Dialogue Talk The shepherd.
Scar: Indeed, the direct culprit was the shepherd.
Scar: He held all the power, fulfilling wishes at a price. The lambs knew the risks, yet succumbed to temptation.
Scar: Unfortunately, in the face of such temptation, they disregarded all the hidden risks, as disaster had yet to befall them.
Scar: If they were given another chance... I believe they would still choose the same path.
Scar: Inevitably, they accepted their fate and paid the price when their time came.
Icon Dialogue Talk The white lambs.
Scar: Brilliant answer. You saw past the obvious.
Scar: The true culprit was not the shepherd, but the white lambs who chose to follow his rules.
Scar: The shepherd never forced them into anything. He merely presented a choice, a possibility.
Scar: No one would have been killed if they simply refrained from making those wishes. Their greed and indifference were the cause of it all.
Icon Dialogue Talk The black lamb.
Scar: Oh? So you're siding with the white lambs, blaming it all on the one who challenged the status quo?
Scar: Haha... But in another version of this story, the black lamb got to unleash its vengeful wrath upon the flock and the shepherd, eventually becoming the new rule-maker.
Scar: Is that the kind of ending you were hoping to hear?
Scar: Now, my second question: What price did the lambs pay for their wishes?
Icon Dialogue Talk Their lives.
Scar: Of course, as always. Life was the most valuable thing they had to offer.
Icon Dialogue Talk Everything they owned.
Scar: But that's what they wanted in the first place.
Scar: Why would they trade their wealth for a wish, when they were risking lives for it anyway?
Icon Dialogue Talk Their sincerity.
Scar: They must have poured their sincerity into it, no doubt.
Scar: But that's not much of a price, is it?
Scar: Here's my final question... What happened to the black lamb?
Scar: Nuh uh... Don't rush, Rover. Take your time.
Scar: What is the truth you've uncovered?
Icon Dialogue Talk It was murdered by its flock and the shepherd.
Rover: The shepherd was granting wishes by sacrificing the lives of lambs. The flock found out the truth but chose to be his accomplices, and they willingly offered the black lamb as another sacrifice.
Scar: Hahaha, that's right!
Icon Dialogue Talk It was executed because its flock was deceived.
Rover: The shepherd was granting wishes by sacrificing the lives of lambs. The flock never found out about it. They were deceived into believing the black lamb was the culprit.
Scar: Almost there, Rover.
Icon Dialogue Talk It survived along with all the other lambs.
Rover: The shepherd was granting wishes by sacrificing the lives of lambs. The flock never found out about it. Someone came to their rescue, and they all made it out alive.
Scar: Pfft... Really? You're such a good little lamb. So innocent, so sweet.
Scar: Do you really believe a hero would show up and save the day?

(Cutscene plays)
Scar: Little lambs cowered and huddled in their village, terrified of the relentless wolf packs.
Scar: Until a shepherd arrived, bearing the gift of wishes and providing shelter and sustenance.
Scar: Slowly, the shepherd gained control over the flock, and the lambs lived contented lives... but this is not the end of our story.
Scar: The shepherd found the solitary black lamb in his flock, and offered to grant any wish it desired. In exchange, he wanted one of its companions as a sacrifice.
Scar: The black lamb refused, and it was shunned by its flock, left without shelter or sustenance.
Scar: After the black lamb's exile, more lambs continued to vanish...
Scar: The shepherd then blamed that black lamb for breaking the rules, and withheld his wish-granting power as punishment.
Scar: From the very beginning, the lambs knew the risk of making wishes—they too could become sacrifices for those of others.
Scar: But they always believed it wouldn't be them.
Scar: Meanwhile, some lambs reasoned that since they had already risked being sacrificed for someone else's wish...
Scar: It was then only fair to pass on that risk for a chance at fulfilling their own desires. And so, they continued to play the game.
Scar: They all knew the consequences, but chose to remain silent.
Scar: Fearful yet greedy, they followed the shepherd's orders and made wishes again and again...
Scar: Until one day a brave black lamb spoke up, shattering their façade of a peaceful and happy life.
Scar: The black lamb got in their way and the shepherd's greedy pursuit, sparking hatred in their hearts.
Scar: Suddenly, they could no longer ignore the blood and ashes of past sacrifices littering the ground.
(Cutscene ends)

Scar: How do you like my story, Rover?
Scar: What really happened here? I suppose you already have it figured out.
Scar: The black lamb who rebelled against the rules, and the white lambs who succumbed to their greed.
Scar: The innocent maiden sacrificed, and the villagers who turned on each other in a ruthless frenzy.
Scar: ...They had it coming.
Scar: All the shepherd had to do was execute the rebel. That's how he kept the flock in check and maintained the status quo.
Icon Dialogue Talk Is that why you became a "shepherd" yourself?
Scar: Fun answer, but no. Not even close.
Scar: I was never the "shepherd". Never will be. You and I... We are the "black lamb", the one who breaks the rules.
Icon Dialogue Talk "He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself."
Scar: Hahaha... Interesting, Rover! I'm liking you more and more!
Scar: Well then. Let's see if this black lamb is going to end up like you say!

(Cutscene plays)
(Cutscene ends)

(Head to the designated location)
Scar: Welcome to the realm of endless chaos...
Scar: Now is your time to think, Rover. What is the right path to take?

(After reaching the second grapple point)
Scar: Oh? You've found us already?

(Defeat enemies inside the Elysium)
Scar: Shake and shiver, blink an eye, a flock of lambs come passing by.
Scar: Fleece of white, black and red, who's the sweetest one ahead?

(After defeating the first batch of enemies)
Scar: Watch out, my dear. Your pioneers are lying at your feet.
Scar: Don't look back. Join them on this right path, and I've got a scorchingly delightful welcome for you up ahead!

(After reaching the fifth grapple point)
Scar: Uh-oh, don't rush. One slip... and you'll shatter to pieces.

(After defeating the second batch of enemies)
Scar: Such speed, such brutality... Aah, can't you see? We are kindred spirits, after all...
Scar: Shh... Don't be so quick to deny it. Now that I have you here, standing before me, I'd love to hear your answers...

(Defeat Scar)
Scar: Tell me. Do you want to be the rule-setting shepherd, or the rule-breaking black lamb?
Scar: If a sane person manages to survive in a realm of lunatics, would you call them the last one of reason... or the sole apostle?
Scar: Think about it. The shepherd is not the preordained embodiment of truth. Once he is gone for good, the black lamb can reclaim the trust of its herd...
Scar: Then... eventually, there will be none left to be "victims" or "oppressors"!

(Scar at low health)
Yangyang: ...Rover!
Scar: Ugh, such a pesky girl.

Yangyang: Rover... Rover!
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Yangyang.
Yangyang: I shattered Scar's illusion. That should've injured him.
Scar: Hehe, should I thank you for showing me mercy?
Yangyang: Stay away from him/her!
Scar: Ugh. Didn't you promise to leave me some alone time with Rover?
Mysterious Woman in Red: With one condition. I do hope you haven't let that slip from your mind.
Mysterious Woman in Red: Don't let your improvisation trouble others.
Scar: Ugh... Look at you, rushing in to protect your precious "Perfect Movement".
Scar: No worries. I know all the dos and don'ts. I don't need you to tell me what to do.
Scar: Rover, it seems our happy little date... must come to an end.
Scar: But don't forget my sincere reminders.
Scar: Let me know what you'll choose: an unexpected gift, an honest and open exchange, or a highly risky gamble...
Scar: The choice is yours. I know how smart you are. You won't make a hasty decision.
Scar: We'll meet again... in the not-too-distant future.
Yangyang: They are gone. Should we go after them?
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Let's skip it for now.
Yangyang: ...
Icon Dialogue Talk Nevermind. Are you alright?
Yangyang: Oh... Don't worry. I'm okay.
Yangyang: Scar's Resonance Abilities appear to involve teleportation and the manipulation of space. He trapped me in confinement, and I could only sense that it wasn't far from here.
Yangyang: It took me some time to break that barrier. Sorry, Rover, if only I could've reached you sooner...
Icon Dialogue Talk You are safe now, and that's all I care.
Icon Dialogue Talk I broke free from it all thanks to you.
Strange Tacet Discord: B-brother... Brother...
Yangyang: Eh? Why are you here, little one?
Icon Dialogue Talk It probably hid out of fear.
Yangyang: I've never seen any Tacet Discord display such vivid emotions...
Yangyang: The 'brother' it mentioned... Could it be...
Icon Dialogue Talk Scar...?
Yangyang: Yes, that is a possibility, since Scar had been here before...
Yangyang: Let's talk about it later. Rover, can you fill me in on what happened?
You tell Yangyang about what just happened and the leads you gathered.
Yangyang: It seems all the tragedies in Qichi Village were linked to that "ritual"...
Icon Dialogue Talk ...And Scar was feeding me bits of info.
Yangyang: Making up stories based on real life to support his twisted beliefs... That does sound like something he might do...
Yangyang: We cannot take his words for granted. Now we must locate where the "ritual" took place and see for ourselves.
Icon Dialogue Talk Yes, we should give it a check.
Yangyang: Hmm? What's the matter?
Icon Dialogue Talk ...Nothing.
Yangyang: Two distinct frequencies of Tacet Discords... I see.
Yangyang: I can feel it in the Streams... Over there. Follow me.
Rover: (In the south....)
Sanhua: They are unharmed. Please rest assured.
Sanhua: As you anticipated, Scar did not try to kill them... Yes, I stayed out of it like you asked.
Sanhua: Is everything alright on your end?
Sanhua: ...Please be sure to stay safe, My Lady.

Yangyang: Rover, do you still have the plaque we found earlier? The one broken in half.
Yangyang: Yes, as I thought... I just felt a similar vibration from that direction. Please follow me.

(Head to the designated location)
Rover: It's the missing half. We can piece them together now.

(Place the Wooden Plaque)
You place the wooden plaque on the stone. Soon after, you hear the roaring of flowing water.
Yangyang: Look, the water is going down!

(Enter the cavern)
Yangyang: I can't believe it... There's such a big opening down here....

Yangyang: How odd... This place should have been soaked in water, but everything is dry here. Even the vegetation is thriving.
Yangyang: Did Scar do this? Given his powers, it doesn't seem too hard for him.

(Head to the designated location)
Yangyang: That tree... It's stunning. It's almost eerily enchanting.
Strange Tacet Discord: Please... Save us...
Yangyang: Are you trying to tell us about... something hidden here?

(Follow the mysterious TD)
Yangyang: Where did it go..?!

(Head to the designated location)
Yangyang: Is that a... diary?

(Investigate the diary pages under the tree)

(Talk to Yangyang)
Icon Dialogue Quest Talk
Yangyang: That girl just wanted to save her village...
Yangyang: But those sacrifices didn't lead to redemption.
Yangyang: I guess the Tacet Discord we saw stayed here to convey her last wishes...
Yangyang: ...Please excuse me.
Yangyang: It's getting a bit too cold here... Can we head back now?

Yangyang: Sorry, Rover, I didn't feel comfortable down there.
Yangyang: The air was heavy in that place, without any wind to speak of, but I could still feel so many emotions and desperate cries for help... I... I couldn't handle it.
Yangyang: The villagers were a complex mix of emotions... hope, resentment, and despair. And as I read the diary, I could feel the intense sorrow and longing of its owner.
Yangyang: What was the diary's owner longing for? Was it the peaceful life she once had, or did she miss her only family—the person who pushed her towards such tragic end?
Yangyang: ...My apologies. I got lost in thoughts again.
Icon Dialogue Talk It's okay.
Icon Dialogue Talk I understand.
Yangyang: I wish I could say such tragedies won't happen again...
Yangyang: ...But I still lack the confidence to make that claim.
Yangyang: It was tragedies like this that made me want to become an Outrider... to become someone with the strength to stop them from ever happening again.
Yangyang: I cannot stop the Lament, but at least I should do everything in my power to help those affected by it.
