Wuthering Waves Wiki

The Tethys System, the "Civilization Sand Table" is the central terminal of the Black Shores. The Black Shores relies on its calculations to observe, forewarn, and solve anything related to the Lament as it can hold nearly infinite data, it is akin to a collection of Sonoro Spheres. It relies on emotions from the Lament to fuel it's calculations, and Lament data is visualized as stars in the system; it transforms data into stars, observing the entire Solaris, and discarded data are cast into the Necrostar. Only the Tethys System understands the true nature of the Lament. It was first introduced in Chapter I: Act V - Rewinding Raindrops.

The Tethys System[]

By inputting Lament frequency data-collected both manually and via beacon access-into the system, the Black Shores can issue Lament warnings for locations worldwide within a 24 to 48-hour time range. This capability is the cornerstone of the Black Shores' extensive collaborations with countries across the globe. Its coding language is extremely complex, and it is only known that its terminals take the form of various autonomous robots.

Stellar Matrix[]

Based on the computational protocols of the Tethys System, the Stellar Matrix is a data package format that functions similarly to a highly compressed file. It has the capacity to store immense amounts of information and even simulate a Lament. Certain individuals can access these matrices under specific circumstances, making them an integral part of the Tethys System's operational framework.

Properly functioning Stellar Matrices are projected into the subterranean galaxy of the Black Shores, allowing members to study and observe them. Malfunctioning matrices, however, are collected and isolated in designated areas to prevent data overflow.

The first member to define a Stellar Matrix noted that standards of observing and evaluating one are similar to the astronomical standards of Solaris-3.

Post-Lament Anthropocene: Comprehensive Mirror for Historians - The Black Shores[]

The Tethys System is a supercomputer unique to the Black Shores that has no discernible energy source, physical infrastructure, or processing core. Its coding language is extremely complex, and it is only known that its terminals take the form of various autonomous robots. In essence, the Tethys System is almost akin to a natural phenomenon, with an origin that remains entirely mysterious. It serves as a civilization calculator and forms the foundation upon which the Black Shores stand. The results generated by the Tethys System are projected as a starry sky within the underground of the Black Shores, made possible by multiple Anchors and underground Data Hubs. This has earned the underground region the title "City of Eternal Night".

Necrostar[]

A type of Stellar Matrix. Inside the Tethys System, a celestial body called Necrostar swallows the faulty data in its wake, a black hole where forsaken Matrices find their end.

Even the newfound science of Tacetite could not provide explanations for its fundamental nature, as all are subject to the gravity within it.

The Necrostar marks the beginning and the end of destruction. It also holds the key to salvation...

Or perhaps, merely a lie.

Fallacy of No Return[]

The Fallacy of No Return is the last line of defense built by the Tethys System, roaming between the boundaries of reality and data space. The absolute safety and stability of this system must be preserved at all costs, even if it means exhausting the computing power of the stars, or seizing the power to modulate. This is the core logic of the system, the foundation to continue the observation, and the unwavering protocol of Tethys.

KU-robots[]

The KU-robots found all over the island are directly linked to the Tethys System. The Tethys system gives them all their own personalities and voice frequencies are encoded into languages that humans can understand. The robots can be considered a living race of their own.
